By David Kherdian
The Crossing Place is a powerful and moving account of the Armenian Genocide, told through the eyes of survivors and their descendants. It is a story of loss, resilience, and the power of memory.
In 1915, the Ottoman Empire began a systematic campaign of genocide against its Armenian population. Over the next five years, an estimated 1.5 million Armenians were killed. The survivors were forced to flee their homes and seek refuge in other countries.
The Crossing Place tells the story of these survivors and their descendants. Kherdian traveled to Armenia, Turkey, Syria, and Lebanon to interview survivors and their families. He listened to their stories of loss and resilience, and he witnessed the power of memory.
The Crossing Place is a powerful reminder of the Armenian Genocide and its lasting impact on the Armenian people. It is a story that needs to be told and remembered.
